Barbara has begun her musical journey at the age of 6 at Music school Fran Korun Kozeljski in her hometown Velenje. Her love for piano and cello grew quickly and that lead her to London, where she graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in the class of Natalia Pavlutskaya.

Currently, she is participating frequently in different concerts at home and across Europe as a member of different orchestras, chamber groups and as a soloist. In January 2017 she was appointed as the principal cellist of ERSO, Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra with which she regularly performs and works towards promoting the benefits that orchestral playing brings to the overall musical and social development. As well as her classical music performances she collaborates regularly with different living composers of modern, pop and film music. Through the completion of her master`s degree at the Royal College of Music, she has specialized in Performance Education, with the main purpose of joining the academic research with classroom practice. Her special interest lies in the area of neuroplasticity and positive psychology training. Since 2014 she has been designing teaching programmes which incorporate resilience training, cognitive training and positive attitude towards problem - solving.

Her belief is that music education can be highly beneficial in everyday life, and that motivates the creation of instrumental lessons, where enjoyment is joined with overall development. In the previous years, she has been invited to various Music Education conferences and workshops where she was able to share her knowledge with younger generations of instrumental teachers.

As Director of Wimbledon Music School, her aim is to create an enjoyable and positive environment, with top quality instrumental lessons for all music enthusiasts. She genuinely believes that music is the multi-international language and one of the most effective learning tools for various aspects of our everyday life.
