Niamh Ni Mheara

Niamh is a talented Composer and Songwriter for Film and TV, renowned for her ability to captivate audiences and tell compelling stories through her music. With a strong background in songwriting across various genres, live performance, and composing for orchestra, Niamh's passion for music has driven her successful career.

Niamh has composed and written music for a range of projects, including short films, documentaries, and musical works. Notable among her accomplishments is the composition of the soundtrack for "The Sunlight Through The Gaps in The Trees," a short film directed by Han Huang, scheduled for release in January 2023. Additionally, she composed the soundtrack for "Blava Terra" (2022), a short film directed by Marine Auclair. Niamh has also demonstrated her compositional skills by orchestrating and conducting the piece "Follow," written for a fifty-piece orchestra, which was recorded at Air Studios Lyndhurst as part of her final thesis at Berklee College of Music.

Prior to her freelance work as a film composer, Niamh gained valuable experience as an Instructor in Piano, Guitar, and Voice at Galway Music Academy where she has worked since September 2019. She has shared her expertise in singing, piano playing and guitar playing, fostering the talents of aspiring musicians and inspiring their musical progress.

Niamh's educational background is equally impressive, having earned a Master's Degree in Scoring for Film, TV, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music, Valencia, from September 2021 to July 2022. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music and English Literature from University College Cork. Prior to that, Niamh completed the AVCM Diploma at Victoria College, London, and a Higher Diploma in teaching - Pianoforte with distinction.

In addition to her practical experiences, Niamh actively pursued professional development through various courses and workshops. She completed the Key Skills Teacher Training Course at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and participated in a Songwriting Workshop at the Dock Arts Centre, Carrick, in partnership with IMRO. Furthermore, Niamh attended a prestigious Masterclass with Dario Marianelli in Composition for Screen at the National Concert Hall, enhancing her knowledge and skills in the field.

Niamh's talent and hard work have garnered recognition throughout her career. She was awarded a Student Scholarship at Berklee Valencia and was the winner of the Dublin Fringefest Collaboration. Her exceptional composition project at University College Cork earned her a First Class Honours distinction.

With a deep passion for music and an unwavering commitment to storytelling, Niamh continues to create enchanting compositions that resonate with audiences worldwide. Her ability to blend various genres and evoke emotions through her music sets her apart as a truly exceptional Composer and Songwriter in the film and TV industry and her positive attitude and passion for teaching keeps her students engaged and keen to learn while enjoying the process.
